Maybe I was wrong about the rapture

I grew up, like many evangelical kids, thinking that one day I would come home from school and no one would be there because my parents were taken in the rapture but I was left behind HA!

Today, Tuesday September 23rd 2025, was another day the rapture was supposed to happen... and it didn't. And it never - EVER - will... from a physical POV...

In this video, I share some reflections about the spiritual nature of "rapture" and why the original theology is a hoax, but there is some instinct that is kinda true about it: the world is broken and it doesn't seem to be getting better.

SO, what can we do about it? It begins and ends WITHIN.

A friend of mine gifted me a copy of The Gospel According to Zen a gift; but the gift he gave me was far more than a cool our of print book with some of my favorite authors like D.T. Suzuki, Alan Watts, and Krishnamurti... he gave me the gift of openness, and the reminder that nothing in this world is truly "ours"

A morning reflection sparked by seeing yet another sad comment from a fundamentalist on a Facebook friend's post. The Way of Christ has much to offer us on the spiritual path, but the Christian religion has a lot of dogmatic ideas that shadow its beauty.

What it means to be a mystic

Let's rap about what it means to be a mystic. No, we're not talking about middle earth or fairies... it's the direct experiential knowing of oneness with God beyond thought or theory. Mystic is the realization of the union, the 'religion' is the way that realization finds its form; in my case, through the Way of Christ, or, the spirituality of Jesus.

The Hero's Journey is YOUR journey | The purpose of spiritual awakening might suprise you!

Joseph Campbell famously made popular the Hero's Journey, which is the spiritual journey. While it is more intricate that this, it can be seen in 3 phases (not always sequential, but usually): - Departure (from the known) - Initiation (in the unknown) - Return (contribution to the once known with unique experience, wisdom, and maturity gained from initiation) Each of us, if we accept it, are on a hero's journey. But many don't accept it. Or they begin and out of fear retreat to the known. But if you are on the spiritual journey, you are being called to become the fullness of who you are, not so that "you" can be great, but that you can be a beneficial presence to the collective through your individual lived experience. Most on the spiritual path thinks it's only about them, it's about being the vehicle in which God embodies for healing, wholeness, and transformation of the world. Be curious. Be courageous. Be a gift.

Don’t live like the masses | 3 practical yet esoteric spiritual practices for seasons of waiting

The shift is coming, but can you wait well? So often we rush things or become nihilistic. How can we live counter-culturally and BE in the in-between? For me, I'm often reminded of 3 points from a sermon I preached years ago. First, handle practical matters diligently and with mindfulness. Second, devote yourself to the ritual of spiritual practices. Third, commit yourself to community and getting outside of yourself through selfless service. Even though I was in a much different place theologically when I created that, it stand the test of time for a grounding way to live through seasons of waiting. Hope it helps you too.
